The Story Behind
Lumyo Awareness
Cybersecurity doesn't start with technology. It starts with people.
Hi, I'm Colin
My name is Colin Suttner, born and raised in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands. I have years of experience in cybersecurity. From analyzing and investigating security incidents to helping companies and organizations build a stronger and better defense. With certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Security+ and various cloud certificates I have a broad technical foundation, but what truly drives me is the human side of security.
Because what I've seen time and time again in my work is this: most hacks and incidents don't start with a technical vulnerability. They start with a person. An employee clicking a link, sharing sensitive information, or simply not knowing where the dangers are.
Why Lumyo Awareness?
I kept seeing the same pattern: incidents that start with a simple click on a phishing link. Not because people are stupid, but because they simply don't know what to look for. And that's not their fault, because nobody ever explained it to them in a way that actually makes sense.
On top of that, the world is changing fast. AI tools are used daily, but how many people stop to think about what happens to their data when they type something into ChatGPT? How many employees unknowingly share sensitive company information on platforms they don't fully understand? The threats are getting more complex, but awareness isn't keeping up.
That's why I founded Lumyo Awareness under CoBoo. I want to make cybersecurity simple and accessible. No complicated technical jargon, just clear explanations that people actually understand. And to test whether that knowledge sticks, I run realistic phishing simulations. Because you only really know if you're prepared when you face it in practice.
My Mission
I believe knowledge is the best defense. My mission is to make people aware of the dangers on the internet, from phishing emails to sharing data with AI tools and social media. I want it to become second nature to think before you click, before you share data, before you hit "agree." My passion is helping people and informing them about technology and the internet in a way that's interesting, not boring. Because if cybersecurity is boring, nobody listens, and if nobody listens, the incidents keep coming.
